Cebu City – The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR)-Provincial Office of Cebu headed by VARINIA K. BAJENTING-FABILLAR, OIC Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II of DAR Cebu concurrent Assistant Regional Director for Operations of DAR Region VII participates in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing between Department of Agriculture (DA) Region VII and the Agrarian Reform Farmer Beneficiary Association (ARFBA), one among several agrarian reform beneficiary organizations in Cebu.
The ARFBA is an identified beneficiary organization by DA under the DA’s KADIWA on Wheels Program.
PARPO Fabillar seeks expansion of the program to other DAR- assisted organizations in the province so as to strengthen direct linkages of agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) as well as other farmers to the markets, under DA’s KADIWA Project.
Furthermore, this undertaking is in line with DAR’s banner project now at this time of crisis – “The PassOver: ARBold Move for Deliverance of ARBs from the COVID-19 Pandemic.”
This way, farmers are assured of steady income as they shall be linked to the buyers and the public.
Moreover, they are able to get a greater share of profit as they will be selling directly to them.
On the other hand, buyers will also benefit to lower price and fresher products, direct from the farmers.
DA7 Regional Technical Director Joel A. Elumba and ARFBA’s president Mr. Rosito A. Gabato, signed the MOU on July 14, 2020, in behalf of the DA and ARFBA, respectively. Mr. Gabato is also the representative of the Farmers Sector of the Provincial Agrarian Reform Coordinating Committee (PARCCOM) of Cebu.
